Another day, another powerful man brought down by Jeffrey Epstein.

Borge Brende, the head of the World Economic Forum, has resigned. He ran Davos since 2017. Eight years of rubbing shoulders with presidents, prime ministers and billionaires. All over now.

The reason? Disclosures from the US Justice Department showed Brende had three business dinners with Epstein. That matters because Brende previously claimed he had no such contact. He lied. The files proved it.

An 'independent review' into his ties to the convicted paedophile financier was completed, and within hours Brende was out the door.

His statement was pure corporate waffle. "I believe now is the right moment for the Forum to continue its important work without distractions." Without distractions. That's what he calls his connections to a man who trafficked children.

Brende was formerly the foreign minister of Norway. Norwegian politicians are going through their own Epstein reckoning right now.

Managing Director Alois Zwinggi will take over while they find a permanent replacement.

So let's count. Mandelson: arrested, passport seized. Brende: resigned in disgrace. And the files keep coming.

Who's next?
